The National Home Infusion Foundation (NHIF) invites all specialty infusion providers to participate in a new research study involving pharmacists collecting time data on professional services related to specialty drug patient care.
The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) is pleased to announce the 2023 Fellow Program (FNHIA) cohort, made up of highly accomplished home and alternate site infusion professionals.
NHIA’s Clinical Program Manager Michelle Simpson, PharmD, BCSCP, MWC presented research conducted by the National Home Infusion Foundation (NHIF) at ID Week, the meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) held October 19-23 in Washington, D.C.

CMS Releases Home Health Proposed Rule for CY 2024

On Friday June 30, 2023, CMS released proposed updates to the Medicare Home Health Prospective Payment System for CY 2024. The proposed home health rule does not address home infusion therapy (HIT) services other than to describe the potential interaction with the new Home IVIG Items and Service benefit, which replaces the IVIG demonstration starting on January 1, 2024.

FDA Issues Guidance for Decentralized Clinical Trials

NHIA applauds the guidance issued by FDA to allow for decentralized clinical trials, including in patients’ homes. NHIA believes that allowing decentralized clinical trials will improve the representation in trials. According to the FDA guidance, “remote clinical trial visits and clinical trial-related activities are important strategies to make trials more convenient and more accessible” and “sponsors should strive for diversity and inclusiveness in trial populations.”

Last week concluded the 2023 National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) Annual Conference, which brings together nearly 1,500 home and alternate site infusion professionals for four days of networking, education, and expo. This year’s event saw significant growth in attendance over prior years and the expo featured more than 125 companies displaying the latest products and services supporting the industry.
