NHIA Comments on Proposed 2024 Home Health Rule

August 28, 2023

NHIA submitted comments to CMS on the proposed 2024 home health payment rule. CMS did not mention the HIT services benefit in its 2024 rulemaking, however, NHIA believes it is important to continue advocating on behalf of Medicare beneficiaries to improve access to home infusion services. NHIA recommends CMS align the HIT services benefit with the new IVIG benefit and combine the disposable supplies and services into a single payment paid each day of infusion. Additionally, NHIA agrees with CMS’ proposal to implement the permanent IVIG benefit in a manner similar to the demonstration but asks CMS to pay 5 times the LUPA rate.
