NHIA committees bring together the thought leaders and innovators in home and alternate site infusion therapy and complement and support staff efforts to promote and achieve the association’s mission and vision.
These groups are the embodiment of member engagement, pairing the skills and experiences of members with association resources to advance the industry.
NHIA is accepting submissions across all of its Education Committees (Clinical, Nursing, Revenue Cycle and Sales & Marketing); Clinical Practice and Sterile Compounding Practice Committees; Membership Advisory Committee; and Quality and Standards Committee.
The submission deadline is August 16, 2024.
The Clinical Practice Committee (CPC) shall define and maintain best practice standards for home and alternate site infusion providers and promote an evidence-based practice approach to patient care.
The Education Committee (EC) has responsibility to provide direction and feedback guidance and oversight for the development of various NHIA educational activities and content, including but not limited to the Annual Conference, educational offerings in NHIA University, educational webinars, Infusion Magazine, and other avenues in which the association delivers education to members. The committee shall collaborate with industry partners and other associations and societies to provide inclusive quality programming.
The Government Affairs Committee collaborates with the NHIA Board and leadership to shape association priorities and strategy on policy and regulatory issues affecting the industry.
The Medicare Contractor Advisory Committee (MCAC) serves to represent NHIA members to advocate
for, clarify, and communicate on Medicare Part B contractor issues, in conjunction with the industry supplier advisory councils.
The Membership Advisory Committee (MAC) serves to open the lines of communication with active NHIA provider and supplier members for the purpose of improving the membership program, and to enhance benefits, communication, and the membership experience.
The Payer Advocacy and Relations Committee (PARC) serves to conduct outreach to private and government payers, analyze, educate, and advocate on reimbursement and coverage for provision of infusion and specialized pharmacy products and services to alternate site infusion patients. The committee is also responsible for maintaining NHIA’s coding standard.
The Quality and Standards Committee (QSC) will work to identify, develop, and promote initiatives that enable the collection of industry-wide data to support and validate the quality and value of home and alternate site infusion services. The committee will monitor, assess, and advise on home and alternate site accreditation standards.
The Sterile Compounding Practice (SCPC) Committee shall advise the home and alternate site infusion industry on scientific and technical issues concerning drug compounding under United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Chapters <797> and <800> as well as sections 503A and 503B of the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
