TRICARE Home Infusion Patient Information & Resources

The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA), has been made aware that TRICARE patients within our infusion provider community have received letters from Express Scripts stating that the local infusion pharmacy they currently use will no longer be in network as of October 24, 2022. These letters instruct patients that to avoid out-of-network expense premiums, they should change their pharmacy to Accredo Pharmacy, a mail order pharmacy owned by Express Scripts.

NHIA is advocating for patients receiving home infusion therapy to be able to keep their current provider. Infusion therapy involves the administration of medication through a needle or catheter.

Currently, the TRICARE website does not indicate that these home infusion therapies should be included in this policy change. NHIA has requested clarification from TRICARE, but has not yet received a response.
