NHIF: Supporting home infusion

It’s a story we hear over and over. Not only can patients receive life-saving treatments where they are most comfortable and can avoid some of the inherent risks of institutional settings—but sometimes it is impractical or even impossible to travel every day to a hospital or infusion center, particularly for those in rural areas.

According to NHIF research, the home and alternate site infusion industry serves 3.2 million patients each year and 98% of patients are highly satisfied with their home infusion services.

The National Home Infusion Foundation (NHIF) invests in and performs research as well as recognizes and supports outstanding home infusion professionals and their work. NHIF aims to instill confidence in home infusion, maintain and improve quality of care and positive outcomes for patients, and help increase access to home infusion.

95% of patients that receive IV medications prefer to be treated at home.
