The National Home Infusion Foundation (NHIF) welcomes the 2026-2027 Board of Directors. We’re honored to announce Michael Kirkbride, PharmD (Vital Care Infusion Services) as the new Chair and Todd Pledger BS, PharmD, RPh (Harbin Clinic LLC) as Vice-Chair.
Joining the Foundation Board this year are: Nancy Kramer, BSN, RN, CRNI®, FNHIA (Optum) and Gene Decaminada, BSPharm, RPh, FNHIA (Yale New Haven Health Home Infusion). This proposal to modify the criteria for the use of an infusion pump should not be viewed as a solution to the broader access challenges facing Medicare beneficiaries who could safely receive infusion therapy at home.
NHIA submitted comments to CMS on a new proposed rule on interoperability and prior authorization for drugs. While NHIA is mostly supportive of standardizing prior authorization (PA) processes for Medicare-covered drugs, it wants CMS to know that home infusion may not fit neatly into processes designed for medical and pharmacy benefits.
NHIA strongly opposes CMS’s proposed HCPCS coding and billing unit changes for immune globulin products, arguing that the changes would create significant administrative, operational, reimbursement, and patient care challenges without providing meaningful clinical or financial benefit.
